After a brief stint in Journalism & Computer Education started his career as a communication trainer as well as a volunteer in 1987-88, with society of Jesuits. In 1989 started Arifin Academy in Bhubaneswar.
Has been an advisor and consulting editor for Future Perfect (a career Tabloid) to New Indian Express in 90s and also has been a guest columnist to The Times of India and hosted Fair Lovely Career Talk for ETV. As the Secretary of PRSI, Bhubaneswar chapter in 1995 was responsible for launching Diploma in PR in Bhubaneswar.
A Doctoral Fellow Graduate of European Commission funded ECCP program and MBA from Maastricht. He has been UNDP-Hay Group leadership Advisor to Indian Civil Service with DOPT. Credited to have pioneered Career and leadership coach
